“Do you hear that?”
“Do you hear the sound of the nature surrounding you?”
“Then you're not listening very well.” The girl said, legs dangling over the side of the bridge where she and her friend who happened to be a boy (no, never a boyfriend he's just a guy who happens to be a friend that's a boy.)
He just replied with nod, she didn't know if the nod was at her or if it was just him moving his head to the beat of the music that was coming from his black Ipod Nano, that he was listening to using one ear bud.
“Hey look, it's music boy and little Miss Perfect.” she heard the statement slip out of the lips of some of their peers as the walked by.
She cast them a glare, and they just rolled their eyes. Like they always did, and like they, no doubt, always would.
The quick strong force of wind rustled against her brown, knee length skirt; the boy's (the music boy's) ear bud that he wasn't using; and left her hair in disarray. The boy seemed to not be phased by the sudden burst of wind that almost made his brunette female companion almost topple off of the bridge, and fall fast first into the cold, harsh, unfeeling river below. But she didn't fall, even if she had, he would've caught her, he wouldn't have let her fall. (Because he's not that emotionless and uncaring, contrary to popular belief.)
“what are you listening too?” she asked.
A shrug was the only reply.
“Well, if you're not going to tell me, I'll just have to find out for myself.” she inched closer to the boy, and grabbed the dangling ear bud and shoved it into her ear. She heard a few opening lyrics from a band that she knew she had never heard of. “you have a weird taste in music.”
“hn.” was the boy's only reply as he just stared off into the distance.
And they just stayed like that sitting in silence, in that one moment, letting the world speed by around them.
